About
As you probably will have noticed, this blog is written by a Witch who has an interest in cross stitch and knitting. What more can I say about myself other than that? :p
Well, I’m a tall redhead in her late twenties, who’s been around on the Witchcraft pathway for a long time — and yet not long enough. I live in Derbyshire (UK) with my knight in shining armour, lots of computers and a collection of books which help to hold up the roof. We are currently owned by five kitties — a matriarchal tortie-and-white female moggie, a timid blue-silver Somali girl, and three Norwegian Forest Cats (one silver tabby and white boy, one black girl, and one blue tabby and white girl).
I spend far too much time in front of the PC, both in terms of my day job (company director for an Internet firm, thus: geek) and in terms of a(n) (un)healthy obsession with teh Intawebz — which is one of the reasons why I try to get in as much cross stitch and knitting as I can, as both mean I can get away from the screen. I am much better at the former than the latter, but I am improving, day by day, project by project. Attending a weekly knitting circle (where one can learn and practice cross stitch, knitting, crochet etc) helps.
I tend to go through cycles — sometimes I will do nothing but knit, and other times you can’t pull me away from my cross stitch. From time to time, I will bounce between the two. I will often write lots of WIP updates regarding the cross stitch, and less so about the knitting — because it’s easier to see progress with the cross stitch, or so I am currently thinking.
In terms of this blog here at Heathwitch’s Stitchcraft, forthcoming plans are adding a list of Wants and Wishes, more linkage, and of course more posts… :)
And so, other than my handicrafts here, I like to blog about Witchcraft and related areas; I collect dragons and books, have two degrees in English, and am currently planning my wedding. My favourite film is Practical Magic, my favourite musicians are Chris De Burgh, Sarah McLachlan, Heather Dale, Garth Brooks and Rascal Flatts, and my favourite authors include Elizabeth Bear, Anita Shreve, Anne McCaffrey and the Romantic poets (e.g. Wordsworth, Byron, Keats).
